What You’ll Learn

Course Structure

You’ll find out what you enjoy, and then you can move onto a specialist qualification or Apprenticeship in either plumbing, electrical, heating and ventilating or refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump systems.

How You're Assessed

Assessment Methods

Learners must complete the following compulsory units to achieve the qualification.

These units are assessed by online tests and practical application.

Practical

Understand and demonstrate fundamental refrigeration and air conditioning operations
Understand and demonstrate fundamental electrical installation operations
Understand and demonstrate fundamental heating and ventilating operations
Understand and demonstrate fundamental plumbing operations

Theory

Understand and carry out safe working practices in building services engineering
Understand how to apply environmental protection measures within building services engineering
Understand the roles and responsibilities and procedures in building services engineering
Understand how to apply scientific principles within Mechanical Engineering Services
