This accessibility statement applies to the Humber Energy Skills Training Academy website, humberenergy.co.uk.
This website is run by DN Colleges Group. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

Image text alternatives
Some images on our news and blog posts do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content).
We are currently working through all of these images to add a text alternative to every image. When we publish new content we’ll make sure our use of images meets accessibility standards.
PDFs and other documents
Some of our PDFs and Word documents are essential to providing our services. For example, we have PDFs with our policy and procedural information which may not always be accessible to screen reader software.
We are currently converting all of these documents into accessible HTML pages.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
Live video
We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations. We will continue to provide captions and transcriptions for all non-live video content that is uploaded to our website.
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
- By end December 2024 all form styling will have been reviewed and updated to ensure contrast meets WCAG 2.1 requirements to include style options for currently non-used elements such as sliding likert scales
